These are the ground rules for using Route 81 (route81.app). By playing, you agree to them. They're written to be read, not to trip you up.

The game

Route 81 is a free fan-made puzzle game. It's provided as is: we work to keep it running and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every category ruling will match your own reading of the games. If you think an answer was judged wrongly, email us and we'll look.

Accounts

• One account per person, please. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
• Your trainer name is public (it can appear on leaderboards), so choose one that isn't offensive, hateful, or pretending to be someone else. We may rename or remove accounts that break this.
• You can ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it at any time. See Privacy.

Play fair

Don't use bots, scripts or automated tools to play, scrape answers, or interfere with the site, and don't try to manipulate stats, streaks or leaderboards. Looking things up in a Pokédex while you play is completely fine; that's half the fun.

Ads

Route 81 is supported by ads served by Google. Please don't click ads you aren't interested in, or ask others to; it can get the site's ad account suspended. How ads use cookies is explained in Privacy.

Pokémon and other trademarks

Route 81 is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc. or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon names, sprites and related marks belong to their respective owners. The Route 81 name, its sign, grass art, icons and the site's own code and design are ours.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site grows (for example when leaderboards launch). The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we'll say so on the site.
